I am trying to get caught up here...
on a very slow, but sure process.
February 1st, we headed off to San Clemente, CA for a fun week, while Justin took a class for work at San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant. It was nice, the company paid for our hotel, a suite in San Clemente with ocean view, and even some of our meals... couldn't ask for a better "cheap" vacay!
We followed up the trip by spending the weekend of February 7th, 8th and 9th in Garden Grove and Anaheim taking the kids to Disneyland for the first time, and a few other various fun places. I hope you enjoy the pics!
The first day in San Clemente, Justin went to work, and I took the kids to San Juan Capistrano to a petting zoo... it was interesting to say the least. I have never seen so many rodents in one place in my life. The kids enjoyed themselves and that is all that mattered!
Gabby feeding the rabbits...

Mason trying to hold the rabbit... please don't touch them son!

on the train ride

Mason wanted to go swimming, he put his swim diaper on his head!

Justin and Mason waiting for "forever" to be seated at a restaurant on the pier...
it was yummy though, so worth it...

picnic day at the beach

On Friday, February 7th, we left San Clemente and headed off to Long Beach Aquarium. What a blast we had. Anyone who has never been there, I highly recommend it... well worth the time and money!
here we are touching sting rays!

one happy family!

The next day...
it was POURING rain...
so we decided to head up to LaBrea tar pits... what an awesome experience!
Justin's coworker, Sean and his wife Hillary and their daughter Kiera accompanied us on our extended stay trip to the LA area... here is a pic of their daughter... isn't she just the cutest thing you ever did see!? I want to kiss her cheeks!!

The tar pit pics...

a

very cool place... makes you realize just how old the earth really must be!
After the tar pits we headed down to Santa Monica Pier for some fun, as it seemed this was the only place with sunny skies in the entire LA area... fine for us!
Mason and I accompanied Hillary and Kiera on the huge ferris wheel... Mason could have really cared less!

check out that big green swing... THAT... my friends... is the ride Gabby decided to go on with her daddy... boy was she scared, but had a blast... it went quite high!

We stayed at the Hyatt in Garden Grove... I got the room off of priceline for $41 per night... we were able to upgrade to a kids suite for $30 more... so for $71, the kids had their own room, bunkbeds, and an awesome stay. Here are the kids at "their" table in "their" room eating breakfast before their adventure begins at Disneyland!!

The kids and daddy on their first ride... Mr Toad's Wild Adventure!

We saw many characters that day, but there were always too many people waiting in a long line for pictures... however we happened upon Aladdin, and he so graciously posed for pics. Gabby was mesmerized... but wanted to know where Jasmine was.

My sister came up from San Diego and spent the day at Disneyland with us. Unfortunately, due to the inclement weather, we rarely got the camera out this day, and for that reason, have very few pics.. reason being this is the only picture we have of her that day... her rear end! Nice pic Justin!

While on our trip, Mason was "holding" his poop because we were on the go so much. He had never tried going poo on the potty, and after 3 days of no poos in the diaper, Justin brought him in the bathroom at Disneyland and asked him to put his poos in the potty. Mason had been having "flatulence" like crazy, and obviously needed to do some business. Low and behold the little man hooked the potty up. It just so happened Justin had the camera in the bathroom with them and decided to take some pictures. Here are two from the blessed moment!

"bye bye poops"

So that wraps up the first week of February and our fun-filled trip to CA. I want to give a very special "shout out" thank you to Hillary and Sean for supplying us with a lot of these pictures, as many a time it seems we forgot our camera while out and about at random places. So thanks guys for the photography!
And an update on the pooing in the potty... well Mason is now pretty much fully potty trained... all on his own accord! No pushes or anything here... we just let him tell us he was ready. He loves wearing his big boy underwears (especially his kung fu panda ones). Now he is only wearing diapers at night, and waking up bone dry... WOW. I swore he was going to be more difficult with this process. Sure we have our accidents occasionally... but knock on wood, this week he has actually had no accidents, and has been going to the potty by himself... WOW! So kuddos for my little man!
Stay tuned for a blog on miss Gabby's 4th birthday... it was a HALLOWEEN birthday!
