Freezing at the Grand Canyon
"Can we have hot chocolate mom!?"
Justin and Kristina hiked out on to this peninsula... they are both crazy... do you see them down there? Tiny little ants???
whew ... they made it back safely!
ahhhh I am freaking out here!
Two peas in a pod!
awww best buds!
The next morning we were off on our adventure to visit 3 parks, first off Walnut Creek National Monument. This is where cliffdwellers inhabited the area... I couldn't help but wonder where the children played???
Some homes in the cliffs...
this would be their room they said... if they were cliffdwellers
ahhhh some shade... now that was appreciated!
sitting outside of a cliffdweller home
preparing for the hike back up!
Next up... off to Sunset Crater National Park... where we learned about all of Arizona's volcanoes! How cool... or hot...
They were soooo into watching the movie about the volcanoes, I think they watched it at least 5 times!
She is an opportunist... any chance she could get to whip out her umbrella, she took it... don't get those chances all too often living in the desert!

Mason and Kristina on the volcanic rocks
And last for the day, we headed on over to Wupatki ruins. By this time we were getting pretty burnt out from sightseeing for the day, but we did enjoy visiting such a beautiful place.
Wupatki Ruins was an amazing place!

checking out the view at Wupatki
After Wupatki we stopped for lunch at an awful restaurant in Flagstaff... and then headed to Sedona for the night. I was so excited for Kristina to take in the majesty of Sedona... such a beautiful place to behold.
in Sedona
After staying the night in Sedona we headed off to Montezuma's Well and Castle... how fascinating to learn about the people who once inhabited this area. Amazing!!
